This week’s trip to the vet was just because bossman came home and found all this green goopy stuff dripping from my eye. What’s so bad about that? But it did start to itch, so I was glad we went. Sure was weird when the vet pulled my eyelids down, said “Yep, it’s pink eye,” and now bossman has to put drops in a few times a day, which sucks.

They keep telling me how special I am at the vet hospital, so they must really like that I’m in there all the time…right? But bossman doesn’t like going there all the time, and now he’s paying for me to have pet insurance, whatever that is.

Bosslady is a real doggy kind of playmate. She gets down on the floor with me and lets me climb all over her and chew on her. I like her a lot and wish she came over more often to play. Here we are in the park today.

Oh yeah…another two weeks, another 5 pounds. I’m up to 40 pounds! Yeehah!

Making New Neighborhood Friends

I could hear him, beckoning to me while I was inside. So I convinced boss that I needed “to go” and I rushed out to meet the new friend I heard playing in my yard on Weds night. How the heck was I supposed to know that when he raised his tail up I shouldn’t sniff it? All the other friends I’ve met actually want me to lick them when they do that. So this little black and white critter shoots some sort of spray onto my chest, and it burned me. Boy did rolling around in the wet grass feel good after that!

I didn’t even know I smelled bad until I tried to lick bossman’s face a few minutes later. He looked a bit upset, so I acted extra contrite while he bathed me.

Then he threw out my collar and opened all the windows, even though it was cold. Then a whole day later, bosslady came over and had the strangest reaction:

Weird. I decided to act calm and be beautiful for a while, but they still mussed and fussed…and bathed me another time. Yuck.

Bosslady took me to the vet on Friday ’cause I had some lump. It didn’t worry me, but they took me anyway. Turns out I had a reaction to my rabies shot, so I’m taking antihistamines. The vet weighed me, and I gained almost 5 pounds in 10 days…but I still look great!

(And I’m tall enough to be able to easily leap onto the bed when I want to really bug the bosses.)

A Night in Floyd Land

So last night they took me up to the redwoods to hang out with this Puggle (Pug/Beagle) named Floyd. He lives with bossman’s daughter Laurel and her husband Steve, up in Boulder Creek.

Boy did we have fun! Floyd loves to run, and I chased him all night long. We jumped from sofa to sofa, from bed to floor, scooted all over those bamboo floors, and generally raised hell in a fun sort of way. Floyd’s not as photogenic as me (his eyes look weird), but I think we’re compatible. And I hear tell that I’ll be staying with him for 10 days in June. Yeehah!

The other fun thing is that there are a bunch of other dogs in the neighborhood and they all like to play together. Which was great, except for that one chocolate lab who was climbing up on me from behind….not sure what that’s all about, but it sure seemed weird.

Bossman says I’m competing for “most prolific pooper.” I take that as a compliment, and look forward to reporting more on my adventures.
